August/September 2022

 Hello all!

It's been an exciting beginning to our fall semester here at the UNT and TWU campuses.

Our theme for this year is Come and See, based out of the story of the woman at the well in John 4. She's so struck by her encounter with Jesus that she immediately feels a need to tell people about it!

Likewise out focus this year is around realizing what Jesus has done in our lives so that we have a similar passion to share that experience with those around us. Our sermons at TNF have focused on this idea for a these first few weeks of the semester, and it was a point of inspiration for our welcome week efforts to reach out to new students.

We have a lot of new leaders on the men's side in particular, which is due to so many graduating last year! Bittersweet, but it's been fun to get to know these new leaders and work with them every week in our mentorship meetings and leadership development time.

Our men's leader team this year.

One of the things you guys can be praying for is our leader team. They are helping so much with the mission on a week to week out basis. We have more people involved in our small groups than involved in our large group gatherings, which means a lot of what we do starts with those small groups and the 1-1 Bible studies that come from it. Pray for these leaders and us as we lead them, as well as the people involved in the small groups. We have 200+ students across the two Denton campuses this year, and we want to do our best to serve them well.

Another thing on our radar right now is fall camp. It is happening this weekend, October 8-9th! This is a big deal for us every year, it is often an event that solidifies people being involved  for the long run and is a major catalyst for new people finding friendships in the community. Pray that new students would come and start building meaningful friendships that point them to Jesus!

I appreciate all of you praying and giving and being a part of the campus mission. Jude and Nicole and I would be nowhere without your support.

We took a bunch of new students to the opening UNT football game. It was an embarrassing display.

Jude is trying to read some hefty books now

Hey all, I'm thankful you're taking the time to read this. I want to give you guys some more peeks into what we've been doing at Collin, and there's a lot that's been happening this month! First, I want to again thank you guys for all your support and prayers. I can't thank you enough for continuing to be a part of God's work on these campuses. I am truly convinced that God is working in the lives of these college students, and that for many of them, this will reshape their life as they go out and live in our society. We still want to bring people to the realization that Jesus is Lord and make fired up disciples who will go out into the world and spread that good news over and over. So thank you again for being a part of that. March was a great month for a lot of reasons. Early on in March, during Collin's spring break, me and a few of the other guys from our FOCUS ministry at Preston Ridge got to drive down to Big Bend National Park. We camped for ...

Welcome to 2025/2026!

Incoming Photo Collage from our 3 week outreach intensive. We made it through another start to the year!! By God's grace haha. It's always a wild, exhausting but rewarding part of this role.  Here's a little bit of the payoff:  If for any reason it won't load, its a video of over 300 college students gathered in a classroom on campus at UNT for our first Thursday Night Fellowship of the year! They're practically shouting their devotion to Jesus! This is awesome stuff, and we're so thankful we get to stay on campus where the students are for our worship and preaching time. Many of the students won't leave campus until they feel more settled, so we've always felt that we can do the most by doing as much as we can on the campus! We're continuing our sermon series on the gospel of Mark, these first two weeks have been covering the call to carry your cross and the story of the Transfiguration. I got to tackle preaching over the Transfiguration passage an...

Next on the List: Summer and a Son

We're back to summer!  Denton FOCUS just finished the end of our Spring 2021 semester, and we went out with a bang after a year that started all spread out into little groups.  Our end of the year Denton FOCUS party We got to do our end of the year party all together! Our small group and 1-1 ministries thrived in the midst of the pandemic but there's nothing like a big group gathering where you can see everyone in the community together and fellowship. We're thankful we at least got to do this at the end of the year. We're also looking forward to this summer. We're doing Summer FOCUS on Thursday nights all together (not just denton but all the campuses across DFW) We're all ready to see everyone back together worshipping and learning at that, so be praying for that to be a good way to build some momentum back up for the fall, and that we stay safe! These are all the student leaders that we had on our small group team this year. So many people! They each co-lead...
